The month of September is known all over the globe as Fashion month.  During each week of September, the biggest fashion shows are hosted starting in New York, London, Milan, and ending in Paris. The four most relevant fashion locations showcase the latest trends and the most prominent designers.

This year’s fall fashion month was launched in New York during the first week of September.  New York Fashion Week lasted for eight days, previewing all the trends for 2016 to 2017.  Proenza Schouler’s 2017 Spring line presented geometric dresses and pantsuits, paired with chunky jewelry and wedges.  Tom Ford incorporated the theme of tweed and brown leather into a majority of his new collection of business attire.

Following New York, London kickstarted their fashion week with a multitude of brands, ranging from Burberry to Topshop.  Topshop showcased oversized jackets, including army and bomber styles, paired with bright accessories, while Burberry kept with the trend of knit sweaters, denim, and silk fabrics.  Burberry was the star of London Fashion Week.

Milan had many notable designers as well, including Prada, Versace, Salvatore Ferragamo, Moschino, and Armani.  Milan emphasized the classic Fashion Week trend of silk pajama assembles.  Crochet, military jackets, and sequins also played a huge role on the runway.  Lastly, Paris Fashion Week set new trends with an array of different themed colors, mainly clean whites and bright pinks, all paired with mini handbags.  Top designers attending included classic Fashion Week participants such as MIU MIU, Louis Vuitton, Chloé, and Alexander McQueen.  Many well-known super models walked in these shows, such as Gigi and Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Taylor Hill, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Joan Smalls.

New York, London, Milan, and Paris demonstrate cutting-edge trends for the upcoming year of 2017.  Regardless of where the shows took place, many incorporated tan and taupe colors and dusted rose pieces throughout fashion week.  Some warm weather trends that made several appearances are silk slip dresses and tanks, off-the-shoulder flowy tops, and florals.

As the weather gets colder, the fashion gets warmer, demonstrating faux furs, layered ensembles, bomber jackets, chunky sweaters, ankle boots, and of course, chokers. Fashion month demonstrates a diverse range of styles and ensembles that will most likely become major trends throughout the upcoming year.
