Everyone wants to start off the New Year on the right foot, and the best way to accomplish that is by looking your best when the clock strikes twelve. Vibrant sequined dresses are not only the perfect way to stand out, but they are also the trendiest option for ringing in the New Year. Flashy dresses have been all the rage for the past few years, but if you don’t want to stand out too much, a black top or skirt paired with a sequined piece is a great way to stay on trend.

“I love how sparkly and flashy dresses and tops add flair to the sometimes drab winter season,” said Port Washington resident Sherry Ambos.

Another piece that has been all over magazines lately are two-piece dresses.  Two-piece dresses are versatile and can easily be mixed and matched.

“Two piece dresses are so easy to pull off and there are a variety of styles that would look great on everyone,” said Schreiber alumna Lauren Ambos.

It would seem like almost everyone, from students to celebrities, is sporting this trend.

A great one-stop shop for all these great outfits is tobi.com.  Their outfits and accessories are great options for any event, formal or not, but their New Years Eve selection is beyond compare.  On the website they have a tab dedicated entirely to New Years outfits.

“Tobi is always my go to. The clothing is cheap, but not bad quality and they have such a big selection that my friends and I never accidentally match,” said sophomore Sarah Hersh.

Their inexpensive and wide range of styles will suit anyone’s tastes. Another great online store is lulus.com. Although Lulus’ products a bit pricier, the company is still wildly popular and provides yet another option for special occasions. Like Tobi, they have an expansive section dedicated to chic holiday looks and glamorous New Years Eve dresses. No matter what your style, any dress you pick up from Lulus is sure to be a showstopper.

“Lulus has such a fabulous range of options and the New Years dresses this year are incredible. I can’t wait to show mine off,” said sophomore Julia Semilof.

Lastly, another popular option is revolve.com, which falls on the more expensive side.  Revolve is known for their high quality clothing, especially dresses.  Anything you purchase is sure to be worth the price. Although it may not be the most realistic choice for everyday wear, Revolve is a great site for a splurge.

“Purchasing any from Revolve is really worth your money. Everything I have ever bought is high quality and cute and I know that the pieces will last for a long time,” said sophomore Emily Edwards.

From sparkles to vibrant colors, these New Years outfits will be sure to liven up the room with glitz and glamor.
