Two Door Cinema Club is a Northern Irish band that mixes vintage 80s synth-pop sounds with soulful indie melodies. You might now the three-person band from their performance at the Meadows Music and Arts Festival in Queens this past September, where they performed hits like “Lavender” and “What You Know.” Since the band’s inception in 2009, members Alex Trimble, Sam Halliday, and Kevin Baird have come a long way.
“I feel like now, we’re a bit more confident in what we’re doing… we’ve always wanted to make danceable music and I feel like before we did that by making it really fast,” said Trimble in an interview with Forte magazine. “Now, I think we’re just experimenting with different rhythms and being influenced by a lot more music.”
Two Door Cinema Club is currently planning a tour of Europe which will last until July 2018. You can tide yourself over until they return to the States by tuning in to “Lavender,” their latest single.
