Reality TV star and beauty icon Kylie Jenner gave birth to her first child, Stormi Webster, on Feb. 1.  Three days later, Jenner posted an announcement on Instagram addressing why she made the choices she did throughout her hidden pregnancy. 

 “I’m sorry for keeping you in the dark through all the assumptions… I knew for myself I needed to prepare for this role of a lifetime in the most positive, stress free, and healthy way I knew how,” wrote Jenner in the Instagram post. “My beautiful and healthy baby girl arrived February 1st and I just couldn’t wait to share this blessing.  I’ve never felt love and happiness like this I could burst!  Thank you for understanding.” 

The 20-year-old star kept her pregnancy a secret from the media.  Her family and friends who knew about her pregnancy did a great job of honoring her request to keep it out of the public eye.  However, this social media hiatus caused rumors about a suspected pregnancy with her boyfriend, rapper Travis Scott, to spread.  The father of the child is indeed Travis Scott, an American rapper, who is most famous for his songs Goosebumps, Antidote, and Butterfly Effect.  In addition to the message Kylie shared on Instagram, she posted an 11-minute video on Youtube addressing her pregnancy journey. 

Kylie’s best friend, model Jordan Woods, said, “When you’re 20 years old, you’re just figuring out your life.  You don’t know what you want, you’re an indecisive teenager and you’re just becoming a young adult, and there was one thing that your mom knew for sure, and that was you.” 

When Kylie first announced the birth of her child, rumors of possible began spreading like wildfire.  A popular fan theory was that Travis’s song Butterfly Effect—along with the matching butterfly tattoos the couple got over the summer—were signs that the name was going to be something associated with butterflies, such as Monarch, Butterfly, or Mariposa.  

Fans were surprised when Kylie revealed the baby’s name to be Stormi via another Instagram post on Feb. 6.  This picture, which shows Kylie and Stormi holding hands, has become Instagram’s most-liked photo, with a grand total of 17.7 million likes.  Kylie’s pregnancy has taken many fans and reporters by shock.  Now, Kardashian fans all over the world are focused on Kylie’s sister, Khloe, and her public pregnancy with boyfriend Tristan Thompson.
