This month was full of new music releases. Cardi B released her third album,

Invasion of Privacy, on April 6, while Drake dropped a new song called “Nice For What.”  Former

One Direction member Zayn released his new single, Let Me, on April 12, along with a new

music video, which features model Sofia Jamora. In addition, The Weeknd dropped a

new EP, My Dear Melancholy, on March 30. All of these artists’ new albums and singles are

competing for number one on the charts.

Cardi B.’s album includes 13 new rap songs featuring artists such as Migos, Chance the

Rapper, Kehlani, J Balvin, 21 Savage, and SZA. This album has already broken records

including most first-week streams by a female artist with over 100 million streaming on Apple

Music, a record which was previously held by Taylor Swift. Invasion of Privacy has quickly taken the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s album chart, making her the fifth female rapper to do so in history.

“It’s amazing how successful Cardi B. has become. This album is amazing,” said

freshman Sari Hartstein.

Cardi B. debuted her album on Saturday Night Live where she performed her new song,

“Be Careful.” During this performance she confirmed her rumored pregnancy with her fiancé,

the popularity of her new album, driving the press crazy.

In addition to Cardi B’s album, Drake’s new single, “Nice For What,” is climbing the

U.S charts. This song, which is currently the number one hit in the UK, has gotten many positive

reviews from music critics.  It is expected to top Drake’s other hit, “God’s Plan,” as number one

in the US, which has been at the top for 11 consecutive weeks.
