Avengers: Infinity War hit theaters at the end of April and is taking the world by storm.  The highly anticipated movie is based on the Avengers, the famed Marvel superhero team which made their debut in 1963.  The first film, The Avengers, premiered in 2012 followed by the sequel, The Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015, both of which received extremely high ratings.  This action-packed film has grabbed everyone’s attention and takes Marvel’s classic superhero stories to a new level.

Avengers: Infinity War features Iron Man, the Hulk, and the rest of the Avengers as they face their most powerful enemy yet.  This mission is so dangerous that it requires the Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel’s spacefaring superhero team by Marvel Comics, to get involved.

“The previous Avengers movies were so action packed, but, this time, the addition of the Guardians of Galaxy made it that more epic,” said sophomore Charlotte Forman.

The Avengers, along with the Guardians, must collect all six infinity stones to defeat their newest enemy, Thanos.  The six infinity stones are part of Thanos’ plan to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. 

 “All that we’ve seen the Avengers do has led up to a moment like this where everyone is unsure about what the fate will be,” said junior Joe Clark.

Although Thanos is against the superheroes, he still shows respect towards them.

“I like how they all helped each other and put their differences, or past, aside.  I also like how Thanos shows his generosity towards the other heroes, even though they view him as the enemy,” said sophomore Alma Hoey. 

 While the film is full of humor, the plot of Avengers: Infinity War seems to go to a darker place than the previous Marvel films.  There are plenty of emotional moments as well.

Infinity War, as of right now, has scored the biggest box office debut ever and it has been named the number one movie in the world for two weeks.  The success is well earned due to the amazing actors and actresses who starred in this incredible film.  Avengers: Infinity War seems to be just as or more successful than the prequels as it joined other major titles like Jurassic World and Star Wars: The Force Awakens to reach the highest amount of money earned in their domestic debut weekends.  Many speculated that this movie would be an instant failure, but to their surprise, this third film has exceeded everyone’s expectations.

Avengers: Infinity War has brought exhilaration to fans all over the world.  The movie gives you an adrenaline rush and will have you on the edge of your seat.   Marvel Studios’ nineteenth film was exceptionally well-received by audiences and critics all over the world.

“I thought it was amazing.  It was very unpredictable and super emotional,” said sophomore Sitara Nagrani.
