On May 16th, 2018, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend announced the birth of their newborn baby boy, Miles Theodore Stephens. This is the couple’s second child, as they have a daughter named Luna, who was born in 2016.  Miles came just a week after Chrissy tweeted, “Happy pregnant Chrissy is gone. Meet OVER IT Chrissy.” All jokes aside, the family is very excited about their new child and is looking forward to the bright future of their growing family.

Chrissy Teigen is a supermodel who has a love for cooking and an enormous social media presence. She wrote a cookbook called “Cravings: Recipes for All the Food You Want to Eat.”  Her husband, John Legend is a pop singer-songwriter and actor. He is well-known for songs such as “All of Me” and “Love Me Now.”  Together, they are a Hollywood power couple. 

“Chrissy and John are couple goals and my favorite people,” said freshman Sari Hartstein.

Teigen previously struggled with postpartum depression, a form of depression suffered by mothers following childbirth. This terrible disorder typically arises as a result of hormonal changes, psychological adjustment to motherhood, and fatigue.  However, that didn’t stop her from keeping up with daily hilarious tweets and posts. Since the birth of Miles, she has been tweeting about her love for food, as well as how her cooking has changed since she became a mother of two.  

“I have never more understood the desire and need for short, simple meals,” said Teigen in a tweet.

She went on to describe how when their family consisted of just her, John, and Luna, she was able to make complex and fancy meals. However, now with two kids, she needs meals made as efficient as possible. Although her cooking has declined, Teigen’s hilariousness has not ceased and motherhood has brought about the best of her online jokes and clap-backs.

As for John, he has kept up his steadily climbing acting and music career throughout the entire pregnancy process. Just before Miles’ birth, Legend starred in the live NBC production of “Jesus Christ Superstar” as the main star, Jesus Christ. Despite his busy schedule, many believe that he has been an amazing father. Legend was very excited to see his daughter Luna become a loving sister.  

“John Legend is an amazing father and his children are extremely lucky to have him,” said freshman Remi Haas.

John has explained that although Luna is not quite understanding the concept of having a younger brother, she will figure it out soon, and they are excited to see how she does. Overall, the father of two is grateful for his growing family and continues to work hard in all aspects of his career.

Teigen and Legend have proved in the past to be amazing parents while keeping up very intense and demanding jobs. They continue to make time for family and friends. 

With the recent birth of Miles, this may become more of a challenge, but knowing the family and their history, their newborn son will only bring them closer together, and create much more opportunity for laughter and light within their family. Miles Theodore came into the world into the arms of a well-known and loving family.  The couple is loved by all of America, and their children definitely are as well.
