The Kardashian Era Comes To An End

Twenty seasons, fourteen years, and hundreds of episodes later, the famous reality television show Keeping Up With the Kardashians has unfortunately come to an end.  The Kardashian-Jenner family announced that the series will no longer continue on Sept. 8.  The final season of the show will be airing in early 2021.  Kris Jenner, the matriarch of the famous family, stated it was for the best and that it was an appropriate time to end the show and focus on their personal lives.  Despite this, the family is still extremely devastated over this decision and are all very emotional, as are their fans.

“It is so saddening to hear that my favorite reality TV show is stopping!  I love the Kardashian family so much, watching the show brings me so much joy and it is so entertaining.  My heart is truly broken,” said freshman Goldie Abrahams.

Keeping Up With the Kardashians premiered on E! in Oct. 2007 and catalyzed the family’s rise to fame.  The show’s original focus was on the women of the Kardashian-Jenner crew and their personal and professional lives.  Although they frequently argued, the girls love each other and tend to value family over everything else.  Throughout the show there were many dramatic and chaotic periods, but their love, and appreciation for each other grew as their fame did.

“I loved the show and I was up to season nine.  It was amazing to watch the Kardashian girls grow up together and I am so disappointed it will not be continuing,” said freshman Sienna Cacossa.

A central storyline in the earlier seasons was a clothing store, Dash, that Kourtney, Khloe, and Kim Kardashian owned.  Although the clothing chain ended in 2018, the sisters have continued to succeed with their own individual businesses.  Kim currently owns a clothing line called Skims, selling soft and comfortable loungewear to match all skin tones, as well as a billion dollar cosmetics line, KKW Beauty.  Khloe and Kourtney are involved in the fashion industry as well and have their own clothing lines and lifestyle blogs.  When the show began, the youngest siblings, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, were only eleven and nine years old respectively.  Today, Kylie owns a cosmetic line called Kylie Cosmetics and is a worldwider influencer for her products.  Kendall is a global supermodel and was ranked the highest paid model in 2020.

“I am so inspired by the sisters.  They pursued their passions and dreams and it was a really good experience to watch them evolve from childhood to adulthood,” said freshman Natasha Rabman.

The Kardashian-Jenners sisters have truly left their mark on their viewers and will certainly be missed from our television screens next year.  However, many are hopeful for a potential spinoff in order to continue keeping up with their favorite television family. There is no question that the Kardashian-Jenners will continue to influence fans even after their show ends.
