If you are passionate about spreading positivity and fostering a supportive environment for students to express their emotions, Full SupPORT is a fantastic opportunity. Full SupPORT meets every other Wednesday in room 11 at 7:30 a.m., and offers an open, inclusive space where students can discuss and explore ways to improve mental health. Full SupPORT is quickly becoming one of the most impactful clubs at Schreiber, with much to offer those who wish to make a difference.
“I enjoy helping out at Full SupPORT whether it be with events or club meetings because I notice how much I am helping my community. I get to learn and meet many people working towards the same goal,” said junior Leo Schindler.
During each meeting, members engage in meaningful discussions and research initiatives aimed at addressing mental health challenges. The club focuses on creating strategies to help students manage the day-to-day issues that often affect young adults. Whether you’re interested in learning about mental health or looking to support your peers, Full SupPORT provides numerous opportunities to get involved.
Seniors Stefano Capobianco and Myla Tannenbaum are currently leading this club. Under their guidance, the club works with adviser Ms. Larissa Renart and a board of students to organize events, activities, and outreach efforts.
Capobianco and Tannenbaum want to encourage more students to join. They are committed to ensuring that Full SupPORT continues to offer solutions for mental health challenges, while fostering a welcoming environment where students can truly be their best version of themselves.
In the past, the club had stress balls to share around the school and written notes to spread positivity in the community.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19, more people have realized how crucial mental well being is. Numerous students have noticed the rising rates of depression, anxiety and other mental health issues and are enthusiastic about contributing to a resolution. Full SupPORT strives to enable students to raise awareness about health and support students as they navigate the challenges of young adulthood.
“Full SupPORT is a great club to join if you’re looking to help out our school community in a huge way. I’ve been able to see a massive change in our schools view of mental health awareness,” said junior and club treasurer Zach Nash.
Without Full SupPORT, many students might not prioritize their mental health or advocate for mental wellness within the community. The club’s Google Classroom are frequently updated, ensuring members stay informed about upcoming meetings and initiatives.
“Full SupPORT is a place for Schreiber students to come together and talk about mental health, a topic that has come into more and more public conversation recently. Our club helps students learn and participate in healthy habits for their own mental health, as well as raise awareness about and de-stigmatize mental illnesses,” said co-president Myla Tannenbaum.
Full SupPort is a meaningful club, and provides a safe space for students to share their feelings and prioritize their mental health.
