On Sept. 28, 2025, music producer Benny Blanco and actress-singer-songwriter-businesswoman Selena Gomez officially tied the knot after dating since mid-2023. The couple collaborated for the first time back in 2019, after working together on Blanco’s “I Can’t Get Enough,” but the couple has known each other for longer. They met back in 2015 after Blanco produced several of Gomez’s songs from her hit album Revival. They reconciled again at Gomez’s 31st birthday, and several months later, on Dec. 7, 2023, Gomez announced their relationship on Instagram. A year later, in December of 2024, the couple got engaged.
Flashing forward to a year later, the couple got married in Santa Barbara, California, in a mansion in the private community of Hope Ranch. The ceremony was at the Sea Crest Nursery, and the couple was surrounded by 170 of their closest friends and family. The entire wedding was planned by Blanco, who went all out with “eclectic” decor, according to Us Weekly. Taylor Swift, Paul Red, Martin Short, Steven Martin, Ashley Park, and David Henrie were among some of the celebrities that attended. The wedding was described as “intimate” on the official Ralph Lauren Instagram page.
“I was really excited to see that Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez got married. I remember listening to Selena Gomez when I was younger, and I’m happy to see that she got her fairytale ending! I can’t believe that she got married. I used to think that they were a weird pairing, but she looks really happy with him,” said junior Vivienne Gilliar-Smith.
Gomez wore four custom Ralph Lauren looks throughout the festivities: a blazer dress for the reception, a silky halter dress with flowers and lace detailing, an elegant fifties-style dress for the party, and a lacy halter dress with embroidered initials and the date of the wedding for the ceremony. Gomez also carried an assortment of lilies of the valley, which symbolized the return of her happiness according to Us Weekly.
Blanco did not disappoint in a classic black suit, bowtie, and several accessories, including vintage cufflinks and an eighteen-carat white gold watch estimated to be up to $1 million. The couple also had their wedding rings to match their birthstones: ruby and aquamarine. The wedding rings also include the date of their wedding.
“I thought the outfits were amazing, especially Selena’s ceremony dress. Everything was absolutely perfect and had a very classic, timeless feel to it. I was glad to see that Benny Blanco had some cool accessories as well. I thought that the rings being birth stones was such a cute detail as well,” said junior Siena McGuffin.
The ceremony itself was described to be very emotional. Blanco and Gomez were both reported to have very meaningful and romantic vows, and it was said that there was not a single dry eye in the room. Gomez was walked down the aisle by her grandfather, David Michael Cornett, affectionately called “Papa,” because he was not able to walk his mother down the aisle. According to People magazine, the newlyweds “couldn’t stop smiling” the entire night. The festivities continued into the night, which was filled with lots of dancing and champagne toasts.
Keeping up with the elegant and timeless feel of the wedding, the couple’s wedding cake was a simple, one-tiered heart cake with white frosting. “Just Married” was written on the top in black icing, accompanied by a figurine of a couple in their wedding attire.
“The wedding was actually very sweet. I thought that it seemed to be very real, like you could tell that they really loved each other. It wasn’t a performance at all, and it didn’t feel like one, just two people who were excited to spend the rest of their lives together. There were a lot of details that went into it that really emphasized the couple’s planning and thought that went into it,” said junior Simone Gordon.
Blanco and Gomez’s wedding is a flashback to timeless and elegant weddings. With custom Ralph Lauren attire and sentimental rings, the detail that went into the wedding is obvious, as is the couple’s love and commitment to one another.
