Season 3 of the hit Hulu show, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives (TSLOMW), premiered on Nov. 13, and viewers could not be more excited. The new season promises new secrets, higher stakes, and more drama. Hulu renewed the series for 20 episodes in Oct. 2024, following the success of its initial season. The first ten episodes developed into Season 2, with the remaining ten becoming the third season.
The show, which became a pop-culture phenomenon after its 2024 debut, continues to explore the complexities of faith, marriage, motherhood, and public view. Following a group of Utah-based TikTok influencers, known as #MomTok, the characters aim to change norms in their church and break stigmas by posting online.
Although it was unclear whether group leader Taylor Frankie Paul would be returning after she was announced as the next star of The Bachelorette, she clarified on an episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast that she will still be in the new season. All of the #MomTok women are confirmed to return for the new season, including Taylor Frankie Paul, Whitney Leavitt, Mayci Neeley, Mikayla Matthews, Demi Engemann, Jessi Ngatikaura, Jen Affleck, Layla Taylor, Miranda McWhorter, and their families.
“My favorite mom is probably Jen because of her positivity and resilience. I loved seeing her on Dancing with the Stars, and am so excited to see what drama comes from her and Whitney being on the show together,” said junior Simone Gordon.
TSLOMW Season 2 ended with several cliffhangers, including the shocking reveal of an affair with Jessi Ngatikaura and Marciano Brunette, a Vanderpump Villa star, and the drama that will follow with Jessi and her best friend, Demi Engemann. Expected to pick up right where Season 2 left off, the show will follow #MomTok’s threatened future, with the members facing a crisis of friendship as trust is tested. The season will also follow a clash between #MomTok and #DadTok, the Mormon husband side of TikTok influencing.
The Season 3 trailer begins with a glimpse at a girl’s trip, Jen Affleck reuniting with the rest of #MomTok after her Season 2 hiatus, and Layla Taylor questioning the standards of Mormon culture. The trailer then focused on the Jessi-Demi-Marciano drama, and ended with flashes of several fights among the moms.
“I am so excited for Season 3 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Jessi was my favorite in the previous seasons, so it’ll be really cool to see her at the center of the show. The trailer makes it seems like this season has the most drama #MomTok has yet to face, and I can’t wait to see how it unfolds,” said junior Vivienne Gilliar-Smith.
The drama surrounding Jessi, Demi, and Marciano will be at the forefront of Season 3. Beyond the cheating scandal is also the wider issue of Demi’s growing separation from #MomTok after attempting to oust Taylor Frankie Paul as the face of the show. The new season is also expected to develop new alliances, with Whitney Leavitt siding with Demi and announcing plans to start her own #MomTok.
“The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is one of my favorite shows. I follow the mothers on TikTok to try and keep up with the drama, and I am excited to see how everything unfolds. I hope to see some good fights and emotional breakthroughs, but I also hope they can make it through this season,” said junior Siena McGuffin.
What sets Season 3 apart is its willingness to sit with uncomfortable truths and finally dealing with the cliffhangers left off in the last season. Whether you are watching the drama, the cultural shifts and stigma breaking in the Mormon world, or just to see what the social media hype is about, TSLOMW offers a compelling and dramatic view of the world. With more episodes, new drama, deeper storylines, and higher stakes, Season 3 will build on the momentum of the previous seasons.
