Many people often wonder what the right phone for them is. The decision usually comes down to either an iPhone or an Android phone; these are the two leading cell phones on the market. Both phones have several outstanding features that set them apart from the rest.
Let’s start off with the basics. When you first look at the two phones, you can see that they both have large screens that are perfect for high quality viewing.
Each phone’s figure looks slim and appealing to the eye. Both iPhones and Androids range in size from very large to relatively small. The regular iPhone 6 is about the same size as the Samsung Galaxy S5, and the iPhone 6 Plus is about the same size as the Samsung Note 4.
Additionally, both phones come in black and white. However, the iPhone also has a gold option. Another main feature that many prioritize is the camera.
The iPhone’s main camera has eight megapixels, while the Galaxy S6 camera has a 16 megapixel camera. Even though some Androids have more megapixels, the iPhone has features that allow for easier editing and organizing of photos. Also, the iPhone has better focusing ability.
Additionally, many people find it easier to navigate the filter and flash options when taking pictures.
“I love taking selfies, but sometimes it is an annoyance to have to switch between settings because of the camera’s layout,” said sophomore and Android user Eva Tamkin.
Arguably the best feature that the Android lacks is iTunes. Most people use iTunes to store their music, which makes it very difficult to download music to Android phones.
“As much as I love my Samsung, the music library on the phone definitely has major flaws. I wish it were easier to access my tunes at all times. I find it extremely annoying that I had to re-download all of my songs when I made the switch to Android,” said sophomore Alex Devas.
A major positive feature that the Android has is that it is heavily interwoven with Google. Google has become a household name and is the most used, and arguably the best, search engine. Having Google on the Android allows for easy searching, a great navigation system, and easy access to all of Google’s great features such as Google Drive.
While it is still possible to access these features on an iPhone using the Internet, it is much easier to do so on the Android since the features are embedded in the operating system.
Another advantageous feature of the iPhone is its famous voice, Siri, which makes it easier to search for something within the phone as well as on the Internet.
On the other hand, Androids do not search contacts, schedules, messages, and emails in the way iPhones do.The contest is close between the iPhone and Android. However, the iPhone seems to have more useful features. With Facetime, Siri, iTunes, and an easy camera, the iPhone is the phone to have.
