Scheiber’s first Winter formal is here! The annual Winter Wonderland Dance on Feb. 2 from 7-9:30 p.m. is an event that has many Schreiber students super excited! The dance is co-hosted by both the student council and the yearbook club and will be held in the Schreiber Cafeteria. For 10 dollars a ticket, students can enter the dance, and prepare to have a great time! It is important to note, however, that there is no two-ticket deal for this. “I think that it is a great thing to be added to our school. It is something fun for sophomores to now look forward to and I’m really excited to attend!” said sophomore Alanna Lamorte in response to “What opinions do you have about the winter formal?”. This thought seems to be a common theme among students. “I think that it’s cool that our school is adding another event which is now available to all grades. It gives everyone something to look forward to, that isn’t as far away as junior and senior prom is. I’m really looking forward to seeing how this plays out, and having a good time with my friends.” said sophomore Jordan Morley. Not only is this dance an event many are looking forward to, but it also gives students a positive environment to interact and connect with their peers. Local and prominent Long Island Party organizer Jerry Laskin will be DJing this event, and additionally, refreshments will be available for attendees. There will be a photo booth, which will be lots of fun! “I was really surprised when I heard about the winter formal, I can’t wait to see the turnout and I hope that everyone has a great time. This is a new addition to Scheiber that hopefully, Scheiber students will enjoy.” said sophomore Ally Lazear. Student council and Yearbook club project for about 300-400 students to be in attendance at this dance. The student council and yearbook club suggest that the attire to be worn to this event be semi-formal, however, nothing is mandated, and students can of course feel free to appropriately express themselves how they would like! The theme of the dance will be Winter Wonderland, which also has students super excited and intrigued. “It is super exciting that Scheiber is adding a winter formal. I can’t wait to go and see how it is. I was kinda shocked when I heard about it, but I can’t wait to see how everything looks and all of the decorations, since the theme is Winter Wonderland. I think that most people are planning to wear either white or blue, but I guess I’ll have to see what everyone chooses to wear there.” said sophomore Alivia Saunders. Many students are looking forward to different exciting things that will be at this formal. “I am most excited to hear the music choices that are played at the winter formal. I heard that there is going to be a DJ, which Is super fun. I guess I’m just excited for everything and to see how everything goes.” said sophomore Tyler Tam in response to “What are you most looking forward to about the winter formal?” Other students have had different responses however. “The thing I am most excited about the winter formal has to be the photo booth. While I am super excited to attend the dance and have a great time with my friends, taking photos and capturing moments to look back at in the future is always really fun. I’m also excited about the music, and I heard the DJ is local, which is cool.” said sophomore Abby Greenblatt. Additionally, some students are just excited for the event to be taking place. “The thing that excites me most about the winter formal is just having a fun and safe environment to hang out with my friends! I was never really expecting for this new event to be added to Schieber, but I can’t be any more happy that they did.” said sophomore Natalie Horioglu
Overall, the annual Winter Wonderland Dance is definitely an event that numerous students are looking forward to, and by the sounds of it, it will undoubtedly be a fun time!
