Nino’s Beach

Are you looking for a new place to eat in town? If so, you’re in luck because last month, Nino’s Beach opened in Safe Harbor Capri, a marina in Port Washington.

At this waterfront restaurant, there are many dishes on the menu ranging from homemade pastas and pizzas , to a delicious assortment of “small bites,” including salmon tartare, mini crab cakes, meatballs, and ribs as well as desserts such as tiramisu.  The restaurant is also known for its surf and turf with combinations of filet mignon, yellowfin seared salmon, and a 14-ounce New York strip steak to choose from.  Although the restaurant has a Mediterranean focus, there are plenty of options for the picky eaters.

“My parents went to Nino’s Beach a couple of weeks ago and said they loved how modern the cuisines were,” said senior Emily Gallucci.

Nino’s incredible views of the Manhasset Bay will make it a hot dinner spot this summer.  In the main dining room, there are several windows, which overlook the water, and a large seated cocktail bar.  In addition to the views,  the restaurant’s modernized marble, stone, and wood interior are uniquely beautiful.

“I went there with my parents, and I thought the food there was pretty good, and I loved the views,” said senior Maddy Craig.

Nino’s Beach’s location and scenic views of the water make it a great place to host events, like weddings, birthdays, graduation parties, and fundraisers.

“I haven’t been there yet, but I am planning on going soon since I heard the place’s aesthetic is super cool,” said senior Avery Miller

Franco and Michael Vendome own the restaurant and have been in the food industry for most of their lives; their family owned a Manhattan restaurant in the early 1980s.  In addition to Nino’s Beach, the brothers own an Italian restaurant in Astoria, Queens called Nino’s AQ.  The head chef at Nino’s beach is Ken Corrow, an experienced chef, who graduated from the Institute of Culinary Education and has worked alongside the renowned Jean Georges.

“Many of my friends went a couple of weeks ago to try it out.  They said the food is excellent, especially the pasta,” said senior Dominick Shelton.

Despite the restaurant’s early popularity, it is only open Tuesday through Saturday, from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m., and on Sunday, 12:30 to 7 p.m.

“I am in love with the design of the restaurant.  It makes it, so you are eating right on the water,” said senior Marissa Cichon.

If you are looking for a new place to eat with friends or family or a place to throw a fancy graduation party, Nino’s Beach is a great option.  With its views, modern decor, and varied assortment of entrees, appetizers, desserts, and cocktails, this restaurant is one to check out this summer.
